Meet KLR.

You’ll be hard pressed to find two people that are more in tune with the Land Rover marque than Matt Derrig and Brad Pollard. Based in Windsor, near Sydney Australia, and with more than 30 years experience, KLR is now a team of more than 10 – and has no intentions of slowing down.

Matt and Brad both grew up with Land Rover in the blood, with a particular love for the Isuzu variants. Matt completed his apprenticeship working on them, and Brad spent years driving, repairing, and living out of them during his time in the Australian Army.

Matt and Brad completed their first Isuzu engine conversion in the early nineties on a 1976 two door Range Rover Classic, and from there progressed to developing their own turbocharger systems and five-speed gearbox kits for both the Range Rover and Land Rover 110.

“KLR was one of the first in Australia to offer a built-to-order service for Land Rovers. And it became very apparent very quickly that what we have been doing is a cut above the rest.

Demand in not just Australia but from overseas has increased significantly to the point this custom service has become a separate and growing business in its own right.”

This mutual infatuation with all things Land Rover developed into a long term partnership in business. Matt and Brad are delighted that KLR involves and employs so many members of their families and to this day the business is proudly imbued with this family spirit.

The KLR team have been quietly creating some stunning vehicles over the years (with many being sent overseas).  With ever increasing demand, KLR are excited to introduce their Special Vehicles department, KLR’s love letter to Land Rover.

With a loyal and growing customer base, KLR also enjoy a strong online reputation in forums and social media.

Matt’s son, James, who now directs mechanical and technical operations for KLR, and whose incredible knowledge of these vehicles goes beyond obsession, is pictured below helping Dad with an engine swap. The first of many for James!
